In the Mediterranean, a group of volunteer freedivers dives without machines or tanks to explore the seabed. But their immersions confront them with a reality: waste is everywhere. Every year, 8 million tonnes of plastic end up in our oceans.

For a week, Coralie, Jérémy, Karim and Astrid descend beneath the surface to dig up plastic, cans, tires and other human traces accumulated in the coastal creeks.

But underwater, something else is at play. Through their repeated gestures and intimate accounts, these freedivers do more than simply clean the sea. They learn to inhabit it, to listen to it, to connect with it. For, in the face of relentless pollution, the question remains: how can we protect what we can't see? Their commitment reveals the need to reconnect with the sea.
