Nereide

Sunday, May 31 at 5:00 p.m. - Espace Miramar

Amal Alnabwany
Artistic short - 8 min - France - 2025
VO in French

In theMediterranean Sea, Amal, a dancer and snorkeler, evolves in an aquatic universe where the poetry of movement meets the beauty of the marine world. But this harmony is shattered when she encounters an invasion of plastic waste. Through her body and her dance, the film warns of the ravages inflicted on seas and oceans.

"With NereideI want to raise awareness of what we are doing to nature, and more specifically to the ocean where we dump our waste. My project is a call to action to protect the seabed and endangered species. The Mediterranean is listed as the most polluted sea in the world, with very high concentrations of micro-plastics, to the detriment of marine biodiversity. In many respects, the Mediterranean has become a great graveyard. What will be left of the rich underwater flora and fauna for future generations?"
