Marine Calmet, a pioneering lawyer in the field of the rights of nature, is preparing an unprecedented lawsuit against the French government following the killing of more than 800 sharks in Réunion since 2014. Together with oceanographer François Sarano and activist Didier Dérand, she is organizing a mock trial in which law students are developing the arguments for the future lawsuit.
The goal: to have the ocean recognized as a legal entity and to persuade the judge to rule against this slaughter. Everything comes together at the United Nations Conference on
