THE 2026 EDITION
The 6th edition of the International Environmental and Social Film Festival (FIFES) took place in Cannes on May 24 and from May 27 to May 31, 2026. This event brought together filmmakers, artists, researchers, field workers, and audiences to explore ecological and social themes—and more specifically, for the year 2026, biodiversity.
On the program:
- A international competition of fiction, documentary and animation films from all over the world.
- A youth section with films accompanied by teacher's packs, for further classroom reflection.
- A Films des Territoires & Rencontres Territoriales sectionThis section will showcase works and initiatives from the Marais and PACA regions, with exchanges between filmmakers, associations, companies and local institutions.
- The Impact 360° Morninga key event bringing together business leaders, associations and public decision-makers to share ideas and concrete ecological and social solutions.


The festival also features screenings at iconic locations in Cannes, lectures, interactive workshops, artistic performances, as well as convivial and festive moments during the opening and closing ceremonies.
The Village of Initiatives rounds out the program by bringing together associations, businesses, and committed creators around innovative and inspiring projects.
FIFES is more than just a film festival: it is a space for connection, reflection, and action—a place to celebrate life, defend biodiversity, and collectively envision an ecological and inclusive future.
