Delia Ackerman: A Visionary of Ecological and Social Cinema
Internationally renowned Peruvian director Delia Ackerman is at the heart of our festival. With a Master of Science degree from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, Delia’s films explore nature conservation and cultural heritage. His award-winning, internationally acclaimed work has been featured on prestigious platforms such as Time Magazine, National Geographic and the Discovery Channel. As an independent filmmaker, she has produced profound documentaries on culture, memory and the environment, including her latest film, “Hatun Phaqcha, The Healing Land”, which highlights the importance of superfoods.
Last year,“Hatun Phaqcha, The Healing Land” was selected for presentation at F.I.F.E.S., drawing attention to the nutritional impact of Andean superfoods. Delia Ackerman travelled to Cannes to present her work, offering audiences a fascinating insight into the ancestral traditions and knowledge of sustainable agriculture and food. Her presence enriched the festival, enabling fruitful exchanges between the director and the audience, passionate about ecological and social issues.
