James Gerard, Australian actor, producer, assistant director and screenwriter, has been a leading figure in film and television since 1989. Based in Paris, he has played over 70 roles and continues to expand his international career. He currently shines on the big screen as Simon, an English lawyer, alongside Zoe Saldana in Jacques Audiard’s multi-award-winning masterpiece Emilia Perez, and on Amazon Prime as Tancredi in The Queen of Serpents.

Recognized for his talent both in France and abroad, James has won such prestigious awards as Best Actor in Luchon for Fort comme un homme and Best Actor in Menton for Powerless. He also won an award at Seriesland Bilbao for Pet Killer.
As a committed artist, James made history by starring in one of France’s first ecological films, Coline Serreau’s La Belle Verte, and contributed to a campaign on the effects of global warming.

His upcoming projects bear witness to his eclecticism and commitment. He will be playing a variety of roles in international productions: a New Zealand detective in Shine, an American policeman in Just After Dawn, and a British military investigator in Dernier Round à Istanbul.
James Gerard doesn’t limit himself to the screen. He writes, trains and inspires. A jury member at renowned festivals, he is also involved in ecological and social projects. Most recently, he was appointed to represent Oceania at FIFES, underlining his commitment to ecological awareness through art.
