SUMMARY:Oxygen
DESCRIPTION:Roxane Perrot and Ugo Isoard\nDocumentary - 57 min - France - 2025\nFrench OV \nIn the Mediterranean\, a group of volunteer freedivers dives without machines or tanks to explore the seabed. But their dives bring them face to face with the reality that waste is everywhere. Every year\, 8 million tonnes of plastic end up in our oceans. For a week\, Coralie\, Jérémy\, Karim and Astrid descend beneath the surface to dig up plastic\, cans\, tires and other human traces accumulated in the coastal creeks. But underwater\, something else is at play. Through their repeated gestures and intimate accounts\, these freedivers do more than simply clean the sea. They learn to inhabit it\, to listen to it\, to connect with it. For\, in the face of relentless pollution\, the question remains: how can we protect what we can't see? Their commitment reveals the need to reconnect with the sea.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n 779c194ea67df083a03695827ff07fb309e48598916c81a9c50c1fb3665f048f

SUMMARY:Nereide
DESCRIPTION:Amal Alnabwany\nArtistic short - 8 min - France - 2025\nVO in French \nIn the Mediterranean Sea\, Amal\, dancer and snorkeler\, evolves in an aquatic universe where the poetry of movement meets the beauty of the marine world. But this harmony is shattered when she encounters an invasion of plastic waste. Through her body and her dance\, the film warns of the ravages inflicted on seas and oceans. \n\n"With NereideI want to raise awareness of what we are doing to nature\, and more specifically to the ocean where we dump our waste. My project is a call to action to protect the seabed and endangered species. The Mediterranean is listed as the most polluted sea in the world\, with very high concentrations of micro-plastics\, to the detriment of marine biodiversity. In many respects\, the Mediterranean has become a great graveyard. What will be left of the rich underwater flora and fauna for future generations?"

SUMMARY:A million leaves under the sea
DESCRIPTION:Ioana Stoicescu and NaturDive\nDocumentary - 21 min - France - 2025\nVO in French \nOff the coast of Cannes\, a fragile underwater garden struggles to survive. Threatened by intense nautical activity\, the Posidonia meadows are being torn up and doomed to disappear. To preserve them\, a team of divers spends long hours beneath the surface\, replanting fragments of Posidonia oceanica\, whose survival is hanging by a thread\, giving them a second chance. This documentary retraces not only this ecological restoration mission\, but also the human adventure it generates: a deep commitment\, a shared resilience\, and a strong bond forged beneath the surface. A story of dedication\, fragility... and rebirth\, leaf by leaf.

SUMMARY:Here begins the sea
DESCRIPTION:Mattia Trabbuchi\nDocumentary - 42 min - France - 2025\nVO in French \nAt the water's edge\, where the sea meets the shore\, lie ecosystems as fragile as they are essential. Cystoseires forests\, Posidonia meadows\, rocky bottoms... The shallow coastal waters are home to an abundance of biodiversity and provide invaluable services to our coastline. Yet their accessibility makes them particularly vulnerable to human pressures. \nWith Ici commence la mer\, FNE Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur invites you to plunge into this close\, little-known universe\, to meet the people who\, from the Côte Bleue to Saint-Honorat via Saint-Mandrier\, are working to preserve this natural heritage.

SUMMARY:At the end of words
DESCRIPTION:Hannah Papaceck Harper\nDocumentary - 93 min - France\, United Kingdom - 2025\nVO in English\, subtitled in French \nWhat does connecting with nature mean to you? At the end of words ("Lost for Words") takes us across the UK\, describing the landscapes and communities that live there. The story begins in 2007 with the disappearance of nature-related words from the Oxford Junior dictionary. These missing words\, such as "acorn"\, "otter"\, "hyacinth" and "dandelion"\, serve as a guide throughout the film. The film takes us on an adventure through the seasons\, from the remotest corners of the country to museum archives and scientific laboratories. Children\, elders\, scientists\, artists and activists speak out\, sharing their knowledge and emotional connection with nature. Their voices prompt us to reflect on our own relationship with the natural world around us. This film explores the fundamental issues of our common future: imagining the future of our planet and rethinking it collectively.

SUMMARY:Ojos de Agua\, Freeing Chile's waters
DESCRIPTION:Marion Esnault\, Marcelo Lara\nDocumentary - 65 min - Chile\, France - 2025\nVO in Spanish\, subtitled in French \nIn Chile\, drought and water shortages have been hitting hard for the past 15 years. The cause is climate change\, but above all the privatization of water sources instituted by Pinochet's constitution and its neoliberal model. As political upheavals shake the Andean country since the social revolt of 2019\, Alejo and Ivanna are fighting for access to drinking water and an end to the monopolization of water by intensive agriculture and copper mining.

DESCRIPTION:Petr Lom\, New Zealand\n88 min. - 2024 - Documentary - Ten Thousand Images \nFor the Māori\, the Whanganui is a living being - their ancestor. This belief was institutionalized by New Zealand law in 2017. Granting the river the status of a legal person is both a means of environmental protection and a legal validation of the Māori worldview.\nThis film is an invitation to experiment with these values: to see our relationship with the world around us - and above all with the natural world - as an intergenerational responsibility of care and custody\, rather than simply one of ownership\, use or extraction.\nProduced over a period of three years\, in close collaboration with the Māori of Whanganui\, this film is a positive and urgent call to action for the rights of nature. \nPrice: €5 - followed by discussion

SUMMARY:A mirror of the cosmos
DESCRIPTION:Isabelle Carbonell\, United States\n67 min \nA Mirror of the Cosmos is a feature-length sci-fi documentary that explores how the Mar Menor lagoon\, located in southeastern Spain and considered a utopian paradise\, has come close to extinction and beyond. Opening with a conversation between the moon and the sea about environmental violence\, the film examines the unlikely relationships between invasive blue crabs\, nitrates and mining deposits in the Mar Menor\, which intertwine deeply to tell the larger story of capitalism’s cumulative and extractive effects on the environment over time. The lagoon thus becomes a microcosm of the Anthropocene\, or “Age of Man”. Ultimately\, the film asks the question: what kind of futures are possible\, and can we adapt?

SUMMARY:The living defending itself
DESCRIPTION:Vincent Verzat\, France\n90 min. – 2025 – Documentary – Sharing is fun \nVincent\, who has been filming ecological mobilizations for 10 years and has gathered a community of 310\,000 people on YouTube\, went through a period of militant burnout before turning to naturalism and tracking. He seeks to reconnect with the living by linking himself to the fate of non-human animals\, hoping to restore meaning and vigor to his commitment. Le VIVANT qui se défend! retraces his journey to find a balance between struggle and contemplation\, underlining the importance of not forgetting the beauty that remains despite the destruction of the world. Through forest battles\, the preservation of natural habitats and the protection of wildlife\, this film is a personal and sensitive journey\, linking ecological struggles and the challenges of species survival. It explores a way to live with dignity and face the challenges of the future.
