PARKER - Agnes, died Sunday at her home, 221 Clarkson Avenue. She was born at Parrsboro, Nova Scotia, Canada, Twenty-three years ago. Coming to this country about two years ago, she settled in Flatbush. She was the daughter of Birdie and the late Burton FIFE and is survived by her husband, Carvel PARKER; a daughter, Dolores PARKER; her mother, Mrs. Fife FLYNN; four brothers, Roy, Dick, Thomas and John, and three sisters, Rhoda, Isabelle and Christina FIFE. The funeral was held to-day at 8 A.M. from the mortuary of Thomas H. Ireland at 1088 Nostrand Avenue, and after services the body was shipped to Parrsboro, Nova Scotia, where interment will be made at Parrsboro Cemetery."

"THOMAS BURTON FIFE -1963-Tatamagouche-passed away at the VG Hospital March 21, following a short illness. He was the son of the late Margaret ( Brown) and Burton Fife born at Parrsboro June 12, 1913. He was a member of the Anglican Church, Parrsboro. He resided at French River and Tatamagouche for the past 19 years. He was employed with the Dept.of Puplic Works Dartmouth. Surviving are his widow the former Vera Patriquin of French River, three daughters Cheryl(Mrs Richard Heron) of Truro; and Sharon & Donna both at home. Also three sisters Rhoda( Mrs Thomas Walsh);Christena & Isabel Fife of Brooklyn, New York; and three brothers, James(Dick)of Parrsboro; John of Springhill; and Ray of Brooklyn, New York. He was predeceased by two sisters Rose & Agnes. The remains rested at Bonnyman Funeral Home, and the largely attended funeral was held from the Sharon United Church, Tatamagouche, conducted by Rev Robert H Millan. Pallbearers were, Dennis Tattrie, George Roberts, Dave Brown, Harold MacLeod, Lloyd Tattrie and Jim Cunningham. Interment Lockerby Cemetery, Tatamagouche."

"MRS. CLARA SKIDMORE
The death of Clara Skidmore, widow of the late Jonah Skidmore, who predeceased her a number of years ago, in Springhill, occurred in Lowell, Mass., at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wallace Harrison on Thursday, January 5, entering into her rest after great suffering at the age of 80 years.
She was formerly Miss Fife of Canaan, Cumberland County and was a woman greatly beloved for her mobility of character and Christian life. She enjoyed the gift of friendship to a remarkable degree - a woman whom it may well be said: "Her children rise up and call her blessed.".".

Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late John H. and Laura (Brown) Goodwin. He was employed with Irving Oil for 35 years having been manager of the Irving Oil Bulk Plant in Parrsboro for 26 years, retiring in 1997. He was a regular bowler with the men's and mixed bowling leagues in Springhill. He had a great love of softball and hockey, having played in Hamilton, Ont., Lower Sackville and Parrsboro. He enjoyed the outdoors and woodworking. He was president of the Parrsboro Band Association for eight years. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Muriel (MacAleese) Goodwin; daughter, Heather, Montreal; son, Michael, Southampton; sister, Sandra Hunter (William), Leamington; brothers, Gary (Sharon), Leamington; Arnold (Grace), Southampton; sister-in-law, Mary Goodwin, Caledonia, Ont.; brother in law, Joe Malay, Parrsboro; several nieces and nephews; special great- nephews, Cody, Nick, and Alex. He was predeceased by daughters, Leah Dawn and Lisa Kim; sisters, Firth Dickson, Gail Malay; brother, William. Born in Halls Harbour, she was a daughter of the late Willis Grayson and Katherine (Thompson) Keizer. In her early years, she was employed with Roach's Restaurant, Kentville. During her time in Kentville, she met and married her husband of 56 years, Lawrence Fife. Over the years she lived a short time in Canaan, moving to Mapleton and Springhill before moving to Cape Breton for 12 years returning back to Mapleton in 1970. She was very active in Mapleton United Church serving on the Board of Trustees and was an active participant of the East Mapleton-Leamington Sewing Circle. She was a kind, soft spoken woman who found the good in people and life experiences. She enjoyed quilting, knitting and her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, Lawrence Arthur Fife, she is survived by daughters, Donna (Angus) Matheson, Truro; grandchildren, Corey (Sarah) Matheson, Kathy (Scott) Rann; great-grandchildren, Jacob Rann and Stella Elizabeth Rann; Lorna (David Tuffs) Fife, Unity, Sask.; grandchildren, Adam Tuffs and Alix Tuffs; Rosalee (Dale) Carmichael, Dayspring; grandchildren, Kyle Chute, Evan Chute, Amanda Carmichael, Nicholas Carmichael and Ryan Carmichael; great-grandchildren, Amy Carmichael, Riley Carmichael and Sara Carmichael; brothers, Gerald Keizer, Halls Harbour; Harold (Barb) Keizer, Centerville; sister, Edna Chesler, Greenwood. rendered very beautifully by the children. Hymns sung were: "Jesus Loves Me,"
"Safe in the Arms of Jesus" and "When he Cometh."
Pallbearers were Carroll Armstrong and Reagh Neily.
Interment was at Torbrook Mines Cemetery."
